The sun has finally set on Harran with the final Dying Light update rolling out this week. But thanks to the slew of free content, it's rocketed right to the top of my list of games to play this weekend.

Dying Light was released back in 2015, and its parkouring action set it apart from the multitude of other games in the genre. I'm a huge zombie fan, so coming off the back of Dead Island, I was itching for another hit of undead goodness. And Techland delivered.

The studio has continued to support the game with a steady stream of content post-launch, and is doing the same with Dying Light 2 . Back in March, Dying Light got a free next-gen upgrade for PS5 and Xbox Series X |S. And this last bumper update brings an expansion pack and four DLCs to base game owners for free.

What's included in the Dying Light free update?

I got through the base game pretty quickly; which is a miracle given I get easily distracted and have a mountain of unfinished titles. It doesn't have the most earth-shattering plot, but boy howdy, is it fun to parkour around the city, sweep up loot, and kill zombies. And when night falls, it turns into a horror-fest.

I never got around to picking up the DLC or expansion because I'd moved on to something else by then. And dipping back into a game every time an update drops isn't something I do. So this free upgrade to the Dying Light Enhanced Edition is just the thing to justify diving back in.

Techland detailed the final update this week but here's what owners of the Dying Light standard edition will be getting – and this is all free, remember:

The Following expansion includes a new map, storyline, and vehicle. The four DLC packs introduce a new game mode, as well as weapons, skins, and a sprinkling of other content.

Given that my gaming pool has run dry, and I'm craving another dose of the undead, the freebies couldn't have come at a better time. So what if the sun is shining for a change? Stepping into an enhanced Harran and playing with new weapons, as well as taking the vehicles for a spin sounds like a blast.

Hellraid is the only DLC missing from the list, but it's a very different vibe to the main game. The mode sends you to a medieval castle, where you'll battle hordes of skeletons. It looks fun but isn't part of the core Dying Light experience, so you're not missing anything too major.

So that's a wrap on Dying Light! I've been holding off on picking up Dying Light 2, but I'm sure dipping my toe back into the zombie-infested waters will soon change that.

This Pixel update is perfect for avoiding awkward work calls

Google has announced a slew of new features for its Pixel smartphones including the ability to type to talk during phone calls as part of its latest Pixel feature drop.

Whether you're unable or prefer not to speak on calls, the search giant is giving Pixel owners a new way to communicate using its Live Caption feature.

First unveiled back in 2019, Live Caption is an accessibility feature that uses speech recognition algorithms to assess audio being played from your browser and automatically caption it for you. Now though, the feature is being utilized for an entirely different purpose in phone calls.

Live Caption and Direct My Call

When on a phone call, Pixel owners will now be able to see captions of what the person on the other end of the line is saying in real time. However, they'll even be able to type out a response on their smartphone and have it read aloud to the person they're in a phone call with.

While this new feature will likely be a godsend for people with speech or hearing problems, it can also be quite useful when participating in conference calls and other work-related calls. This is because with Live Caption on Pixel devices, you'll be able to follow along in phone calls even in noisy environments as well as in places where you wouldn't normally be able to take a phone call.

For those who haven't upgraded to the Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro yet, Google has also announced that its Direct My Call and Wait Times features will be available for the Pixel 3a and other newer Pixel devices.

Direct My Call is a feature that makes it easier to progress through complicated phone trees when calling a business as Google Assistant can translate these complicated automated messages for you. Meanwhile, Google's Wait Time feature shows the projected time it will take to get through to an actual person when calling a toll-free number.

iPhone SE 2022: Here’s how to save a load of money on useful accessories

Buying a new smartphone can be expensive, especially one from Apple like the new iPhone SE 2022 - not because the base cost is high, but because you end up buying loads of extras like a case , portable charger and headphones.

Well, if you're checking out the iPhone SE 3 deals then you can actually save a lot of money, at least if you're upgrading from the iPhone SE 2 , iPhone 7 or iPhone 8 .

That's because the new iPhone has the same build as its predecessor, which in turn was based on a design Apple used years prior for some main-series iPhones.

These devices are all the same size, with an unmoved camera bump and Lightning Port, and with the same display too.

As a result, most iPhone 8 cases will fit the new iPhone SE, so even if you're changing phones you can stick with your trusty protector.

You can see this on Apple's website, for example with this iPhone SE Silicone Case . In the Compatibility section, the second- and third-generation iPhone SE models are listed as well as the seventh- and eight-generation iPhones.

We've got a list of the best iPhone SE cases here, for if you're interested in a brand-new case, but if you're upgrading from one of those other devices, it would be smart to search for iPhone 7 cases to save from the ‘new phone’ tax that some retailers place on new products.

Other accessories are cross-compatible too including wallet folios, wired and wireless chargers and headphones, so if you are coming from one of those aforementioned devices, you could save a bit of money on the usual upgrades.

Of course, if you have any other iPhone or an Android device, you're out of luck. But this is a useful bonus for certain Apple users, not an expected measure in the smartphone world, so that's not the end of the world.
