Game’s FIFA 20 Xbox One bundle is super value
Back in 2013, when the Xbox One launched, the original hardware would have set you back a whopping £425. How times have changed: in the console’s twilight years, you can now get the revised lighter hardware, a copy of FIFA 20, a headset and two months of Now TV for less than half that. That’s the latest offer from Game, which currently has the bundle available on its site to preorder for just £169 . That’s an awful lot of value right there, considering the game alone will set you back at least £40 if you intend to buy it on day one. There is one caveat, though: this is the 1TB Xbox One S All-Digital Edition, which, as the not-at-all cumbersome name suggests, doesn’t have a disc drive. That means you won’t be buying any disc-based games from the shops, and will be relying on downloads straight from Microsoft’s own store. That might be enough to put some people off, especially if you like to sell on your games, but it’s actually not as big a deal as it would have been a few years ago. Why? Xbox Games Pass, an initiative Microsoft introduced in 2017 that lets you have an enormous selection of games on tap for the cost of a £7.99 per month subscription. It’s like a Netflix of games. Combine that with frequent Xbox Live sales and the two free games per month you get if you subscribe to Xbox Live Gold, and you can see how the disc-free version of the Xbox One might be appealing. It’s not for everyone, but if you’re ready to embrace an all-digital console experience, you won’t find a better offer than this. Buy now from Game
