How to find and delete duplicate photos

These days, we need to handle a very large stream of information and images from our smartphones, tablets and digital cameras. Your computer is full of photos from your portable devices? Here is a list of free softwares that will help you to find and delete duplicate photos:

Panaustik

Panaustik is a free software that will search all duplicate pictures on your computer, but also the in photo montages using the same images (but arranged differently). Panaustik use a Java based technology to find duplicate files. It is also very easy to use.

Start the software.

Choose the photo folder.

Check Search subfolders and click on the Clock icon to configure the search filter.

VisiPics

VisiPics is a free and efficient software to manage your photos. It also allows you to sort duplicates files according to the criteria of your choice (file size, lower resolution, degree of similarity between photos...).

Start the software.

Choose the photo folder(s).

Configure the filter and launch the search.

Once done, click on Delete to remove the duplicate files..
