Split your keyboard

Ever tried using the iPad keyboard in landscape mode and type with your thumbs? It is quite difficult as you won't be able to reach all the keys. Here's a small tip that can help! Go to Settings, then Keyboard and toggle the Split keyboard option on. You can now split the iPad's keyboard into two smaller sections. Tap and hold your fingers on both side of the keyboard and then swipe your finger towards the corners of your screen:

Mute and Rotation lock

But what happened to the side switch? Unlike its predecessors (iPad, iPad2, iPad Air and the iPad Mini) the iPad Air 2 doesn't possess a side switch. The side switch normally serves two purposes; it can either mute your device or lock the screen orientation. On the iPad Air 2 the Mute and Rotation Lock options can be accessed through the Control Center:

Enabling the Night Mode

The night mode optimizes readability and help to reduce eyestrain when reading text (ebooks) iPad Air in low-light conditions. This is achieved by switching the default white background and black text to a black background with white text. Go to Settings > Accessibility > Accessibility Shortcut > Invert Color.

Touch ID

The iPad Air 2 is equipped with a fingerprint sensor (Touch ID technology) which can be used to unlock your device, instead of using a passcode you can simply swipe your finger over the home button to authenticate on your device. Touch ID also allows you to make purchases on iTunes and the AppStore. To configure the Touch ID feature go to Settings > Touch ID & Passcode > Add Fingerprint. Register your fingerprints and once done you will be prompted to enter a passcode. This 4 digit code can be used in the event that you fail to unlock your device with Touch ID.
