Faster, more compact, durable and still not very cheap – iPhone 12 preorders start on the 16th October, and the release date will be the 23rd of October. Pricing

The standard model will be sold at the price of $799. A smaller model, iPhone 12 Mini, will cost $699. The prices for the more advanced iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will be $999 and $1099 respectively.

Sales of iPhone 12 will begin on October 23rd. The iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12 Pro will be available from November 13.

Main Specifications

5G

As expected, the new models support 5G, the fifth-generation standard for mobile communications, providing faster data transfer under ideal conditions: 4 Gbit (upload) and 200 Mbit (download). However, the ubiquitous introduction of 5G standard networks will not happen very soon, so until such speed can enjoy only some users.

Design and Colors

The phone has sharper sides than the previous models and has a similar form to the iPhone 5. It is presented in five different colors: blue, red, black, white and light green. iPhone 12 Pro is also available in gold.

Dimensions

iPhone 12 is 11% thinner, 15% smaller and 16% lighter than iPhone 11. And the iPhone 12 Mini is even smaller (weighs only 4.76 ounces), making it a great replacement for the iPhone SE.

Display

The flat Super Retina XDR display is much more durable thanks to the new Ceramic Shield technology. According to Apple, it is the most rugged screen in the world. The display size of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro is 6.1 inches - like the iPhone 11 (iPhone 12 Pro Max is 6.7 inches), and iPhone 12 Mini has a display of 5.4 inches (in comparison, the display size of the iPhone SE is only 4.7 inches).

The resolution of the screen is twice that of the iPhone 11 - significantly increased the contrast and brightness. In addition, reducing the frame of the screen made the gadget more compact.

Processor

iPhone 12 features the A14 Bionic processor - one of the fastest for nowadays.

Capacity

Available with 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB RAM.

Camera

The basic models of the 12 Series have two cameras: a wide module (aperture 1.6) and an ultra wide module (aperture 2.4 and 120° viewing angle). This is a good performance, but the iPhone is still inferior to the advanced Google Pixel models.

iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone Pro Max are equipped with three cameras and LiDAR system. This scanner provides better focusing in poor light conditions. LiDAR also scans space, creating a three-dimensional picture - this technology provides more opportunities to support games and applications that use virtual reality. Last but not least, PRO cameras have optical stabilization, which allows you to capture quality images on the move.

A new 10 bit HDR video standard and a new video editing application are included.

Accessories

For new models of smartphone Apple has developed a series of branded cases and chargers in a variety of fun and bright colors. These accessories are fixed with built-in MagSafe magnets.
